Customer Love: The Sweetest Stories Behind Our Flower Deliveries

At Petal&Post, flowers are only half the story. The other half is you – the people who send them, receive them, and take the time to share your experiences with us. Every day, we’re blown away by the messages we receive from customers near and far. They remind us why we do what we do, and why flowers are never just flowers.

Notes That Brightened Our Week

“The bouquet was even more beautiful than the photos. It made my sister’s day.”
This one had us smiling ear to ear. We always say flowers can’t be captured fully in a photo, and it’s wonderful to know they spoke louder in person.

“Delivery was on time, and the driver was so kind – thank you for making gifting so easy.”
Behind every bunch is a driver making sure it arrives just right. We read this one aloud in the studio – shoutout to our amazing driver team. 

“I’ve never seen my mom so surprised – she cried happy tears.”
These are the moments that make the late nights and early mornings worth it.

Stories That Stay With Us

Sometimes, the stories our customers share go far beyond the bouquet.

One customer wrote about sending flowers to her grandmother “just because.” She told us how her grandmother kept the vase on her kitchen table and said it brought so much life to her home. We love this reminder that blooms don’t need a reason – they’re a way of saying I’m thinking of you, any day of the week.

Another customer, living abroad, told us:
“I didn’t want to shop with the big flower corporations, so I was thrilled to find your shop. Ordering was simple, delivery was smooth, and my sister loved her birthday bouquet and fudge. I’ll definitely use you again when sending flowers in Cape Town.”

And one of the most moving stories we received was from a daughter who couldn’t be by her mother’s side in ICU:
“As soon as she was moved from ICU I wanted to send flowers and I am so grateful for your amazing service. You brought my mom so much joy, and we loved the diffuser I added to the basket.”

From Our Team

When a lovely message comes in, it never just sits in the inbox. Screenshots fly around the studio, our florist might do a little dance, and someone usually says, “This is why we do it.”

Jenna, our Head of Tech & Logistics, shared one story that stuck with her:
“There was a customer who sent flowers to both her mom and her mom’s housekeeper. We got a photo of them back with a big thank you because they were so happy. I think about them a lot. Customers always notice that we go the extra mile, and that’s what makes it so special.”

Cathera, our Joburg Studio Lead, shared this message that really stuck out to her: 

“Hello, I hope you are doing well! I just wanted to say thank you for making my long distance relationship feel so much easier!

My boyfriend did some research and discovered your company after trying to send me flowers from —  (which unfortunately weren’t as beautiful or quality) – and we both love your flowers and the concept of your business!! 

He lives in Germany and I live in South Africa, the flowers make the distance 100x easier!!! 🥹 thank you for always putting together beautiful flowers, we appreciate the effort and talent 🤩🤩”

About this message, Cathera said, “It made me so happy that we can bring joy to this couple, both on the sender’s side of being able to spoil his loved one, and the recipient who gets to enjoy the blooms and feel that love from her boyfriend. We’re so lucky to get to be a small part in their story of love and connection.”
