The Day of Love is approaching – and it’s one of our favourites! When it comes to flower & gift giving on this special day, we can safely say that we are the experts! See how we work our Valentine’s magic behind the scenes.

The Prep

Our planning for this celebration starts around 3-4 months prior to the day itself. Our design team, along with our flower farmers have carefully planned out the Valentine’s Day Posy ingredients, with a focus on strong seasonality,  locally grown blooms, and of course romantic feels…..all while steering clear of the overly exaggerated red rose trend, in favour of a fresh and unique look that speaks to the unconventional girl/guy. 

Our Valentine’s Day Posy this year includes moody blue roses, a pink ice protea, hot pink gerberas, fluffy chrysanthemums, lilac alstroemeria, mini carnations and fragrant pennygum. 

Here’s the message you will be sending when your love receives their delivery: 

A bouquet of pink and purple flowers with a pink candle, turkish delight, a chocolate and a gift bag.

A note from us: what makes the gift box extra special is that we designed the label of the scented candle. We chose the words: Hey Honey for the label, as we feel like this represents the genuine uncomplicated sweetness of this year’s Valentine’s Set.

The Vibes

As both Claire, our Head of Brand, Operations and Sales as well as Kim, Petal&Posts’ CEO and Founder will tell you, arriving at our studios on Valentine’s Day morning is one of the best parts for us as a team. Stepping into the studio while it’s still dark outside in the early hours of the morning and being greeted by a breathtaking sea of flowers covering the entire floor, knowing that so much joy is going to be brought to so many in the day ahead. As our team weave pathways between the buckets, the early morning calm quickly fades into a lively buzz of movement. 

Our delivery teams arrive with enthusiasm and the day gets going in earnest. Our team takes great pride in hand-writing our customers’ love notes, which gives us a little sneak peak into their worlds for the day and warms our hearts – this is one of Jenna’s, our Head of Tech & Logistics, favourite parts. 

After the months of preparation behind the scenes, getting to actually pack orders and send deliveries out is so exciting. Our studios are a flurry of Studio Leads preparing orders and managing their large delivery teams, drivers collecting and hitting the road, our management team ensuring that all is running smoothly for our online customers, some of our regular local customers popping in to browse in-store – a whirlwind of Valentine’s Day fun awaits us (as well as messy studios in the three provinces, that look like a teenager’s bedroom after the all packing is complete!)

Our logistics team meticulously plans the day to ensure that these special dedications of admiration & love are delivered as quickly as possible, carefully handled by our dynamic crew of delivery drivers, who value the importance of our deliveries being made efficiently.

While this day often looks like red heart emojis and sappy sentiments, we at Petal&Post revel in the shades of pink, the magic of gift giving and the joy of being the connection between our customers and their loved one when they can’t be there in person.
